It’s vibration is of true spiritual love and encourages the manifestation of this vital energy in our surroundings and very being. It assists the user in resonating with the energy of the New Age and attuning to the perfect state of higher planes. Use of Sugilite enables the flow of this energy to enter the crown chakra and flow through all the chakras helping with connection to source.
It assists with the gift of forgiveness both to yourself and others and empowers the user to discover the unique gifts they have brought into this world. Sugilite makes it easier to become accepting of others and to be present to the here and now. Wonderful for situations where there is a possibility that anger, disappointment or conflict could prevail. It removes negativity, supports a feeling of well being and empowers co-creation. Sugilite seems to protect against, absorb and dissipate anger, hurt and other unwanted negative energies.
Sugilite is extremely effective in those wishing to explore the relationship between physical health and the mental body. It attracts healing power and enables insight into the base causes that manifest as physical problems, whilst enabling the user to channel large amounts of energy and balancing the emotions. Sugilite that is included with veins of Manganese is particularly effective. Try it next time you feel tense or at odds with your surroundings and the situations created therein. It is also incredibly effective at removing headaches. Placed on the forehead it seems to draw out the pain in moments.
It is also known as “Royal Lavulite” and “Royal Azel.”
I recently started using a crystal called Creedite. Creedite from what I gather is supposed to be awesome for meditation. However I have noticed an interesting side effect. It amplifies, sort of like apophyllite does. In my meditation garden I have selected 4 clusters of credit and positioned them at all 4 corners. In the center I f course use my focus stone for whatever I wish to accomplish that day for meditation.
I have not tried Creedite with phenacite because I’m afraid it will make me dizzy but, I’ll brave it eventually.
So what actually is Creedite? Creedite is a rare mineral from Mexico. It can assist in the expansion of awareness and feelings of up lifting. It can assist in meditation, helping to release any blockages in the upper chakras. Creedite is a stone of the Light and can help one manifest that light in one’s everyday life. Creedite will assist in bringing into form that which comes from the deep awareness that it also brings forth.
Also I want to wish you all a Merry Mabon. Here is a small blessing I wrote a few years ago. http://spellworks.net/?p=43
A few months ago The Huffington Post stated that with the additon of the 13th sign Ophiuchus, the chart has changed. So, now what you thought you were, you are no longer. Apparently I’m a Capricorn when I’ve lived my whole life believing I was a Capricorn/Aquarius cusp. To add insult to injury, this isn’t new, its been changed since about 130 B.C.
Now is this new system correct? I think thats debatable and its up to you to decide. I have always fit the exact representation of an Aquarius. Everything from my body frame to my humanitarian ways. I feel I am still an aquarian and will address myself as such.
So, just incase you were wondering what you are now, this is the “new” chart:

Capricorn: Jan. 20 - Feb. 16
Aquarius: Feb. 16 - March 11
Pisces: March 11- April 18
Aries: April 18 - May 13
Taurus: May 13 - June 21
Gemini: June 21 - July 20
Cancer: July 20 - Aug. 10
Leo: Aug. 10 - Sept. 16
Virgo: Sept. 16 - Oct. 30
Libra: Oct. 30 - Nov. 23
Scorpio: Nov. 23 - Nov. 29
Ophiuchus: Nov. 29 - Dec. 17
Sagittarius: Dec. 17 - Jan. 20
I wouldn’t lose too much sleep over it.

Zincite has the ability to direct energy into the first three chakras, helping to clear blockages and restore the flow of our own energy, so that we can re-experience the joy of playful creation. Passion is another quality enhanced by Zincite, as the life force of one’s organism is enhanced by exposure to the emanation of these colorful crystals. These are very positive crystals, which are especially useful to those of the spiritual bent, who may tend to neglect the full embodiment of their spiritual selves in the physical world. It also is said to provide for the synthesis of personal power, producing an electrical current within the body and facilitating the removal of energy blockages. It can help to bring together those of like mind, and is useful in facilitating the working of groups. It is also beneficial to furthering relationships on the physical plane.

Sorry about that! I had been so wrapped up in my work that had I completely forgot and let the domain name expire! It wasnt until I got the “Well are you gonna renew, or not?” notice before I realized “Oh no!”
Yule is right around the corner! Do you believe it? How many of you are making a Yule Log? It never quite seems like Yule time until I’m sitting on the floor of my living room sticking paper, herbs and flowers to my yule log.
So, lets talk about Yule logs!
So, what exactly is a Yule log, and how do you make a Yule log? (All of you seasoned witches out there can just skip this next part) Well I’ll tell you. In my family creation of a Yule log is somwhat like a new years resolution in a way. We put all of our hopes, dreams and aspirations onto our Yule log for the new year by attaching herbs, flowers, candles and handwritten spells . Making Yule logs, in my opinion, is the most enjoyable of all of the sabbat workings. A Yule log is a simple log, either completely round or a good workable chunk of wood. Now the type of wood is completely up to you and what would best fit in with your particular working. (Make sure your log is very dry! You might need to keep it in the house a few days before you begin your working.)
Ash for Health
Oak for Wisdom
Pine for Prosperity
Cedar for Positive Energy
Apple for Love
Birch for starting over and new beginings.
Once you have chosen your log, now its time to dress it.
Again, it is up to you how you would like to attach your objects to your log. Some good options are twine, colored ribbon and melted candle wax makes a good adhesive. Some witches even use a glue gun, although it is an option, its not my choice. I really dont want to smell glue as it burns. But hey, if you like it go right ahead!
As for objects: Pinecones are very traditional for the season as well as holly. These are some options you might want to attach to your log.
The following is an example of how I generally make mine. Feel free to use it as a guide if you are making one for the first time.
1) I usually choose a round, foot long (or so), 3-4 in diameter piece of Birch. I choose Birch because I’m fond of starting off the new year fresh. (Again, any size any wood you like)
2) I like to use colored ribbon to symbolize my working, along with candles of the same color. If you are unsure of the color you think would work best, go here Spellcrafting . Astrology colors can be used as well if you don’t particuarly have anything in mind this year. For this example, this year I’m going to use white ribbons and candles for cleansing and new beginings.
3)The objects I will be working with is: roses as a symbol of love because I wish to love myself more. Daisies for purity and rebirth and of course Holly for happiness and a symbol for this year. I will also be attaching pinecones to signify the season. Also feel free to use dried berries and herbs!!! You can also use symbols of your family like paper poppets and write thier name and wish on the poppet, then attach. This is free reign here, use your imagination!
4)Unroll and cut a long piece of white ribbon and being to wrap your objects around your Yule log. I will use melted candle wax to ahere my tealights (you can also use votives or single spell candle shorties).
5) Optional: Write a personal spell on a piece of parchment. Mine will have something to do with a new begining for a fresh new start this year.
6) Create a fire in your fireplace or outside, where ever you will be burning your log. Once the fire is started. Gather your family, or if you are alone, gather yourself.
Hold your log and take a few moments to visualize all of these things you would like to see in the upcoming year and push these energies into your log. When you are ready, place your Yule log into the fire. (you can light your candles and have them burn for a while before you place your Yule log in) As you had let go of things in the prior year during Samhain, now is the time to share with your family or yourself of the wishes and aspirations you have for the new year.
Merry Yule!
Then I was about 14 years old my grandmother taught me how to see and somewhat read auras. It took me till I was about 17 before I was proficient enough in it to where I could see them on just about anyone within a matter of seconds. Now, not so much. Our 3rd eye is a like a muscle. If you don’t use it, it becomes weak and powerless.
I’ve spent much of the past couple years flexing this muscle trying to get it into the shape that it once was. Apparently, I don’t know if I will ever be to the degree I was but, from time to time I able to seem them somewhat. Usually the first question everyone asks is “What color is my Aura?” and “What does the color mean?”
Well, I can show you how to do that yourself. You can always use a mirror but for fun, get a friend to help you with this activity. Have your friend sit in a chair upright near a white wall, or door or something “colorless”. Now focus on the shoulder(s) or sides of the arms and around the head of your friend, but try and concentrate on one spot for now. Relax. Sort of think of the “Magic Eye” game. Relax your eyes. Much like the Magic Eye it will take a while for the color to emerge. Now if you only see just barely a line around your friend, that’s perfectly fine. Not everyone can see 8 inches of glow around a person. Write down/remember what you see and keep sort of a log of these colors and look back to see what they mean. Auras do fluctuate in color from time to time. Some Auras may be dimmer/brighter than others. Keep up this exercise and you’ll be able to do it on a whim.
I searched around online and found a pretty good guide of what the colors mean. Mine is Lavender.

Just getting settled in. I’ve relocated to the Seattle area just in time for fall. Deciduous trees abound. Wow I haven’t seen colors like this in a long, long time. I’m looking to become more active in the Pagan communities up here. I’m curious to see how they differ, ritualistically than those deep in the heart of Texas. This should be fun.
Went to the beach and brought home some sand to fill my cauldron. I’m going to be making some incense again so, don’t be surprised if you are inundated with incense recipes, readers!
As for the ask a witch, I still don’t have my email set up right. I’m not techie enough. I’ll have to wait til the Currendero comes and visits me to work on my machine. However feel free to contact me on Twitter. (lower right side of the page is my info)
Oh one thing I should add. The author J.T. Ellison who writes the Taylor Jackson novel series contacted me a little while ago. She informed me that my site was a major influence on her latest book The Immortals. She sent me a copy but between unpacking and getting situated with work and whatnot, I haven’t had a lot of time to read. From what I understand, her books are pretty good. Its on my to do list! She’s a really nice girl and honestly, I’m honored that people can come here and gain knowledge from my research, spells, recipes and experiences. Thanks to J.T. Ellison all of you who visit my site. I appreciate every one of you! I think I’m going on…3 years now with this blog and it’s becoming quite full of information. It makes me smile to know it’s going to good use!
